This seminar was the second such forum on this subject. In 1995, the first seminar put forward proposals for better productivity and Rapra believed the opportunity had come to bring the subject up to date. Recently, there has been particular focus on the difficulties currently being faced by the rubber and plastics industries, resulting in new developments in screw extrusion technology.

In an attempt to collate this new research, Rapra Technology brought together experts from both industry and academia to provide a valuable insight into the problems they have encountered and the progress of current research. The papers presented at this conference covered the latest advances within the industry; discussing the areas of concern, new processing techniques and the resulting areas of strong growth.
