Interest in solvent-free adhesives is increasing because of environmental concerns about the use of solvent containing adhesives and the subsequent need to decrease or eliminate solvent use.

In this Rapra Review Report, adhesives are classified by the type of chemistry of the adhesive rather than the mode of application or the end-use. The following adhesive types are considered:

  • Water-based adhesives
  • Hot melt adhesives
  • Liquid (100 solids) adhesives
  • Ultraviolet and Electron Beam adhesives

  • An additional index section containing several hundred abstracts from the Polymer Library gives many examples of solvent-free adhesives.
