The testing of polymers presents many challenges, including the need for better reproducibility of tests, new standard methods, improved data for design and the effects of legislation.

The second international conference on the testing of polymers, jointly organised by Rapra Technology, Plastics and Rubber Weekly and European Plastics News, provided a forum for experts in testing from around Europe to discuss developments and problems in the areas of fire testing, food contact, weathering and laboratory management.
