High Performance Elastomers
This new conference for 2000 was organised by Rapra Technology and European Rubber Journal. It aimed to discuss the many different types of high peformance elastomer which all share the properties of flexibility combined with the ability to resist the effects of heat and chemicals. In general, as thermoplastics steal some applications from commodity elastomers, the high performance sector is becoming more important to the rubber industry. So the future of the elastomers sector depends critically on the creation of new materials which deliver a better price/performance ratio for speciality and niche markets.
