Rapra Collection of DSC Thermograms of Semi-Crystalline Thermoplastic Materials (The)
By C.D. PriceDifferential scanning calorimetry is an extremely useful analytical method which can be used to measure the Tg and Tm of polymers, for studying the melting behaviour of polymers which have different crystallisation histories as well as in the identification of constituent parts of polymer blends.
The Rapra Collection of DSC Thermograms of Semi-Crystalline Thermoplastic Materials is the result of many years work and provides a set of thermograms for 68 materials covering a broad range of widely available semi-crystalline polymers:- Polyolefins; Polyamides; Saturated Polyesters; TPE; PTFE; EVA; PEEK
Each material was scanned four times:-as received; slow cooled at 20C/minute; fast cooled at 320C/minute; quenched at 0C The layout of the collection has been designed so that the four thermograms for each material can be seen at the same time. This layout enables a clearer picture of the thermal history of the material to be obtained.
The collection is indexed by material type, has a list of abbreviations used and company names are provided where specific trade named materials were scanned.
